More space and shorter routes to projects: FONTANA-EOD plans to relocate from Wesseling to Cologne during 2026 and establish additional branches in five federal states for 2027–2028.
FONTANA-EOD plans to move its branch from Wesseling to Cologne. Opening at the intended location in Cologne-Porz is planned for December 2026. Further locations in five German federal states are intended to follow in 2027 and 2028.
The plans are driven by growing order volumes and the aim of working closer to project areas. More room for company development and shorter journeys are intended to support our work with clients.
Growing order volumes also change day-to-day organisation. More projects need preparation, staff and survey equipment must be assigned appropriately, and documents must be available on time. We are therefore combining expansion of our premises with more regional deployment planning. The new locations are planned for areas where our clients increasingly request services.
For clients, what matters most is how reliably a deployment can be prepared and carried out. When teams and equipment start closer to the project, long journeys may be needed less often. Our aim is shorter routes, lower travel costs and greater flexibility when agreeing dates. Whether and to what extent this benefits a particular project depends on its location, the method needed and the staff available.
Intended new location
FONTANA-EOD · Cologne-PorzPlanned opening:
December 2026
The existing Wesseling branch is intended to move to the new location in Cologne-Porz. There, we aim to gain more space to organise our work and create room for further growth if needed.
The planned move develops the existing branch. It is separate from the head office in Gersheim. Until the opening, please continue to use our existing contact channels.
Additional branches are planned in Rottweil, Ingolstadt, Gießen, Walsrode and Bad Kreuznach. They are intended to strengthen our presence in regions where order volumes are growing. The planned expansion period is 2027 to 2028.
The cities named are planned locations. We will announce their opening dates and addresses as the next steps are confirmed.
Rottweil is intended as a base for expansion in Baden-Württemberg. Its position in the south-west fits our aim of supporting projects more locally within the state. In the district, the A81 connects the central Neckar area with the Lake Constance area; the B27 provides further connections towards the upper Neckargäu and the Swabian Alb.
This regional connection is central to our deployment planning: in future, staff and equipment should not have to travel from a more distant location for every assignment. The branch is intended to make it easier to prepare and support projects in the south-west.
Ingolstadt is planned as a location for expansion in Bavaria. The A9 connects the city with Munich and Nuremberg; the B16 runs towards Regensburg. The city therefore offers a regional base between several important project areas.
The planned location is intended to help us organise deployments more locally in Bavaria and reduce longer journeys. This includes suitable staffing and equipment planning, as well as the ability to prepare project coordination regionally.
Gießen is planned as a location in Hesse. The city lies on the River Lahn in central Hesse and is connected to the Rhine-Main area. Its motorway ring links regional routes with the A5 and A45.
This position suits regional deployment planning that considers projects in central Hesse and neighbouring areas together. The planned branch is intended to shorten journeys to these projects and make it easier to coordinate staff, survey equipment and project dates.
Walsrode lies within the triangle formed by Hamburg, Bremen and Hanover. This position is a key reason for selecting the city as a future location for our planned expansion in Lower Saxony.
The branch is intended to serve as a base for projects in the north. Our aim is to prepare deployments there more effectively with regionally available teams and equipment, reducing the need for travel from more distant parts of Germany.
Bad Kreuznach is planned for further expansion in Rhineland-Palatinate. The B41 connects the city to the A61; the Nahe Valley railway links the area with the Rhine-Main region. This position complements our existing presence in Saarland and the Rhineland.
A future base in the Nahe and Rhine area is intended to support regional projects more locally. The aim is to coordinate staff and equipment deployments in Rhineland-Palatinate more effectively and avoid unnecessarily long journeys.

Higher order volumes also require more coordination: enquiries must be assessed, documents assigned to the right projects and deployments prepared. Our location plans are intended to provide premises that fit the company's development.
The expansion is planned over several years. What matters is that the available space, organisation and tasks in each region fit together sensibly.
Closer to the project: Additional locations are intended to shorten routes to important deployment areas and make regional organisation easier.
Less travel: By shortening journeys, we also aim to reduce the associated costs for our clients. The routes and costs for a specific deployment are agreed for the individual project.
Technical planning continues to depend on the proposed work, investigation requirements and site conditions. A closer location supports the process; the service required is agreed for each individual project.
You do not need to wait for the planned openings to have an initial discussion. Tell us the project location, planned groundworks and intended schedule. A site plan, planned ground disturbance depth and existing documents help us understand the task.
Whether the project needs an aerial photograph assessment, a suitable survey or checks during construction depends on the specific work. Our regional overview and the service pages provide an initial technical introduction.
The head office is in Gersheim, and the branch is currently in Wesseling. Opening in Cologne-Porz is planned for December 2026; the five further cities are part of the intended expansion in 2027 and 2028.
We will report further steps with the details confirmed at the time. For questions about an ongoing or new project, you can already Discuss your project with FONTANA-EOD.
Whether historical aerial photograph analysis, explosive ordnance surveying, surface surveying using GPR, magnetometry or TDEM, deep-ground surveys, downhole surveys, excavation supervision, area clearance or ordnance recovery is needed depends on the location, ground disturbance, depth, ground and existing documents. An early ordnance assessment provides clarity for tendering, programming, occupational safety and construction.
FONTANA-EOD combines its Section 7 SprengG licence, specialists holding Section 20 SprengG certificates of competence, suitable survey and clearance methods, and traceable documentation. Send the site plan, depth of ground disturbance, construction phase and existing documents for an initial technical assessment.
